    On the occasion of the 228th anniversary of the Constitution of May 3, May 15, 2019, a National Day for Poland and for Lithuania, formal reception took place at the Polish Embassy in Athens. For the first time, this event was carried out in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Athens, which was an opportunity to present close relations connecting both nations for centuries.

    At the invitation of Polish and Lithuanian ambassadors, a large group of guests, representatives of the diplomatic corps, Greek administration and business, scientific and cultural communities, the Polish and Lithuanian communities in Athens gathered in the Embassy's garden.

     

    During the event, exhibitions dedicated to the Constitution of the 3rd of May 3 and the 20th  anniversary of Poland's accession to NATO were presented , as well as a multimedia exhibition dedicated to the 450th anniversary of the Union of Lublin, which established the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth .

     

    The reception was enriched by the concert of Kaymo Project trio, which consists of representatives of the Polish community living in Lithuania. The band is composed by vocalist Elżbieta Oleszkiewicz, violinist and arranger Katarzyna Żemojcin and guitarist Laurynas Vaitulevicius. They performed Polish folk songs from the region of Vilnius in modern jazz-electronic arrangements.
